alifornia weather is great all year long, even in January. The temperatures during the first days of the New Year do not rise over 18°C, but they don’t drop under 8°C either, the sun is out all the time and there are lots of things to do and to see all over the state. - See elephant seals – the natural habitat of these wonderful creatures is between Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay and they can be seen in large groups in the coastal areas as well as on the beach throughout the month;
- Enjoy the snow at Lake Tahoe – the state is well-known for its spectacular winter landscapes as well, so if you are looking for snow, you can have plenty of it to enjoy in Lassen National Park;
- Visit the Wine Valley in Napa – California’s wine country has lots to offer, including wine tasting tours and culinary explorations in the finest restaurants any time during the year, January included;
- Visit Hollywood – the Universal Studios are open in January, too, offering plenty of opportunities to have fun for kids and adults alike. The area has so much to see and to do that one day is not enough to try and to visit everything.
